What do you do when your age old traditions don't make any room for your calling? In Pai's case, she perseveres. Set in a small village in New Zealand the film is beautified by the natural scenery it catches. The plot is about the age old traditionals of the Maori tribe, this makes the film very interesting and mesmerizing. In a way, this film touches on a world issue that many face day to day: the young versus the old, this is one of the reasons Whale Rider is for everyone.
