Poor old Krank can't dream and would do just about anything so that he can and has done just about everything he can including kidnapping children for their dreams. When One, an ex-whaler as strong as a whale himself has his young brother Denree kidnapped by Krank's clone assistants he goes to rescue him helped by young orphan Miette who lives in the City Of Lost Children, a surreal, low, dark, run-down area of France where poor orphan kids run around like mobs employed to steal in exchange for food and money by evil twins sharing one body.
